Despite record per-pupil spending, U.S. K-12 education outcomes are declining. This data-driven post examines NAEP results, PISA rankings, chronic absenteeism, and the structural, instructional, and cultural factors driving the shortfall — and what actually works.

As a young man, I graduate high school with a 5th grade reading level and did not learn that I was dyslexic until I entered college.
