Is Uranium Present in Your Drinking Water?

Uranium is a naturally occurring radioactive element found in soil and bedrock. In certain geological areas — particularly those with granite or phosphate-rich rock — uranium can leach into groundwater and private wells at levels that exceed EPA drinking water standards. Long-term exposure to elevated uranium in drinking water is associated with kidney damage and increased cancer risk.

This kit tests your well or city water for uranium, giving you the data you need to determine whether treatment is necessary.  Uranium testing is clearly recommended in areas with high levels of radon in air and areas near uranium mining activities, uranium processing facilities, and nuclear power plants or areas associated with TENORM (technology enhanced naturally-occurring radioactive material), such as solids from industrial waste processing, oil and gas brines and well cuttings, or you are exposed to the decay products of uranium such as radium or radon, you should consider testing your water for uranium..

What This Kit Tests For

  • Uranium

Who Should Use This Kit?

This kit is a good fit for homeowners on private wells in areas with known uranium geology, those who have received a comprehensive water test showing elevated radiological activity, or anyone wanting to verify uranium levels before or after installing a treatment system.
